Background

This is a game originally devised by 4 people (the founding fathers) in order to prevent gambling withdrawal when a bookie was no longer available. It combines the fun of gambling with less risk and no chance to loose your shirt or get your legs broken.

Definitions

Founding Fathers - Three of the original four gamblers, they make all decisions (simple majority).

Bet - A fictitious amount of money (not a real bet) that comes from your total pot, the league manager sets the minimum bet, and the percentage of the total pot that can be bet each week.

Pot - Your fictitious bank roll of money to gamble with. You can only bet up to a certain percentage of your pot in any week (all games from Tuesday through Monday night). The starting amount and percentage is set by the league manager. This is usually done to prevent gamblers from losing all their money early in the season. The pot is rounded down to the nearest $5 increment for ease of bookkeeping (e.g., if your % was set at 50%, and you had $415 in your pot, then you could wager $205 at the most (half of $415 is $207.50, rounded down to the nearest $5).

Push - A push is where the game ends with the favorite winning by the line amount. This is considered "No Bet". Lines with a half point can never end in a push.

Commissioner - The founding father who is in charge of receiving all bets, he gets all the calls and tracks each gamblers pot. (He's off the hook. The website handles it now!)

Guru - The IT man in charge of the website, programming changes, database, etc.... Please email him with any site problems or suggestions - seanredenbaugh@yahoo.com.

Bank - The founding father who collects entry fees and pays out the winnings, if you don't pay him by the end of week 1, you are out, no exceptions.

Nom de Wager (Alias) - Your gambling alias, you must have one and use it when you call in or use the website.

Rickshaw - Something you won't see on NBC's Olympics coverage.

Rules

Each gambler makes bets from $5 up to half of their pot each week of the regular season (weeks 1-17). You decide how much to bet on each game as long as they are in $5 increments and do not exceed one half of your pot. You can bet on as many games as your money allows.

Updates

You will be able to go to the website on Tuesday to see the results. The time will vary depending on how busy the Guru is on that day, but usually it will happen before 9:00 am.

Questions, Problems, or Ideas

Any questions, problems, or ideas can be communicated through any of the founding fathers. They will discuss and make any decisions. All decisions are final. This is a gentlemen's game. If you don't like the rules, don't play. If you have a website or IT inquiry - direct those to the aforementioned Guru.

Entry Fees and Payouts

The entry fee is determined by your league manager. At the present time, the website does not collect the entry fees. This will have to be settled outside of the website. The league manager, however, will enter into the website which players have paid. This will unlock the player, and allow them to make their bets.

Rules

In Pigskin Pick'em, you must bet all games played every week using the line from the website. Instead of using a fictitious pot, you play for most wins against all other gamblers playing.

You must make all your picks on the website. If you don't pick any games, you lose all bets. The entry fee is determined by your league manager. At the present time, the website does not collect the entry fees. This will have to be settled outside of the website. The league manager, however, will enter into the website which players have paid. This will unlock the player, and allow them to make their picks.

Rules

1. Pick a team each week to win, no spread.

2. Win and you advance, lose or tie and you are done.

3. You can't pick the same team twice.

4. The last person left gets the pot. If more than one person makes it all the way, they will split evenly. No tie breakers.

Rules

Confidence Chaos combines a little of both Gridiron Gambling and Pigskin Pickem. It is the best of both worlds.

You will select the winners of each game every week (against the spread of course), and then assign a confidence level to that game based on how confident you are in your pick. If there are 14 games on the schedule that week, then you will assign numbers 1-14 to the games.

The winner you are most confident in, you would place a confidence level of 14 (or the max that week) on, and the game that you are least confident in your selection, you will place a 1 on.

You will score points for each game you get right. So if you get 5 games right, and have assigned them confidence levels of 2,6,9,11,14, then your total score that week would be 42. You will accumulate points throughout the year and try to finish with the most points. It's simple!
